I’m having a hard time turning off my brain.
I ended up 3rd to last place in round 2, which means I’m eliminated.
Pretty much everything the judges said I agree with. (I’ve posted their reviews for my song below).
I agree it was choppy, especially trying to get back into the verses. The drum loop I had for the verses had some nice little fills to smooth out the transitions, but not the other way around. Those fills sounded lame.
I agree the vocals were weak. I was happy there were any vocals at all, considering the day before I could barely talk.
The flub at 2:20 was a flub. Not intentional or on purpose, but I was aware of it. I was running out of time and as a cheat, rather than try to record it all again, I copy & pasted my last chorus over and *tried* to smooth out the transition a bit.
I know the competition is about the song, and the song is what needs to be rated. I do hope that as a human being, now that the judging is done, they do read some of my song-bio to see what was going on for me this round. I wouldn’t want or expect them to change anything by ANY means, but I’d love for them to have a little more insight into what I was up against personally.
So yeah. No more competition for me. But I can turn in shadow entries for the final two challenges! Stay tuned and we’ll see how that goes!
